Update from Clive Gowing (FED) – 5 November 2015

Dear Robins Trust Member

It has been a couple of months since I last got in contact and I would like to update you on the various things I have been doing in my role as Fan Elected Director.

Forest Green Rovers home match

You may have read in Paul Baker’s programme notes for the Havant and Waterlooville game that the board made the decision to turn down the opportunity to have the Forest Green match televised.

This decision was made collectively by the board of directors.

We felt that it wasn’t right to move the game to a Thursday night as it is one that is capturing the imagination of the supporters. I know it was the first game I looked for when the fixtures were released.

We felt that moving the match would have an impact on the attendance and we wanted to give as many supporters as possible the chance to attend the match and enjoy a fantastic atmosphere.

It meant that we turned down £7,000 from BTSport – something that may have proved useful in the January transfer window – but as a board we need to make sure that short-term financial gains are not made at the expense of supporters.

Your Club: Your Views Count

The Robins Trust and Cheltenham Town Football Club will be holding a focus group on Monday 18th May and we want to hear your views.

Like last year, when the Football Club arranged a similar event, we want to hear from as wide a cross-section of Robins fans as possible.

We want to hear from fans young and old, male or female, season ticket holder or not on the issues that matter to you.

Whether it’s the way the club engages with fans, what you do on a matchday, or how the club operates, we want to hear from you.

As the club looks forward to a new era, it’s vital that the views of the fans are heard – if you have strong opinions, or ideas of how to make things better, we want to hear from you.

If you want to be involved e-mail to Robins Trust fan elected director Clive Gowing at stating your name, age, the number of years you have been supporting the Robins and the area of the ground where you watch the games.

Also, if you feel you have skills that would be of benefit to the Football Club, please note them on your e-mail.

Cheltenham Town is your club, and your views count.
